PCE-889 infrared thermometer measures surface temperature. The most attractive features of the infrared thermometer are its clear laser point, wide temperature range and adjustable emissivity ( depending on the material) . Thanks to its high optical resolution of 50: 1 you can measure an object temperature from a substantial distance. Due to the small point diameter of 6 mm at a distance of 30 cm the temperature of small construction parts can be determined. The distance of the infrared thermometer from the object and the size of the measurement point are related. It must be taken into consideration that measurements from a greater distance generate a much larger measurement point resulting in a measured temperature over a larger surface area.
